John and Claude Elk are husband and wife partners in a travel
stock
photography business that has provided imagery to leading publications
in the magazine, textbook, guidebook and calendar industries
for more than 30 years. With a constantly growing photographic
library of more than 500,000 images from 30 states and more
than 70 countries in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia,
they are “on the road” about half the year, adding
new material to their files. John, originally from Oklahoma,
still maintains strong ties to his native state and is a contributing
editor to Oklahoma Today magazine. He is professionally affiliated
with ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers), ASPP (American
Society of Picture Professionals) and SATW (Society of American
Travel Writers). Claude came to the U.S. from France; appropriately,
that country constitutes one of their strongest foreign files,
with extensive material from Paris and many other parts of the
country.
